1) Every person should help the
community, but the challenge is how to do that. This is what we learned in this
course which is community service. In the beginning of this semester we started
to look for a place to volunteer in and choose the group we should volunteer
with. My group and me we volunteered in ZHO which is stands for Zayed Higher Organization.
It’s a governmental institute that helps kids with special needs from all ages with
professional and trained staff.
2) At the beginning I had
no idea about volunteering and I had a struggle in interacting with the
students there. But with the time I used to them and to what I should do there
with them. The best part of all this is when you do something to those students
and you can see that this thing is really helping them to be a better person in
the community, an example of that what we did in the National and Flag day,
after we finished everything we saw the smile on their families faces that
their kids can be a part of the community and this really gives you the best
feeling ever.
3) Before I volunteer
in ZHO I didn’t used to be that person who helps everyone and do things to them
that change something on their life. But what I noticed that volunteering is
actually can take the best of you and make it beneficial to the community, such
as what we did on the preparation of National and the Flag Day. It took from us
a lot of effort to teach the students and make them understand all the moves
and what should they do.
4) In the end I would
say that volunteering experience is one of most beneficial things ever,
because
you learn too many things from it without your permission. From my side I got
too many things out of this experience such as enhancing my abilities in interacting
with those special needs kids and learn how to be an active member in the society.
Out of this experience I think I got over of my struggles in interacting with
people and I think this will benefit me in the future, it was a good and
interesting experience to do and if I had the chance I will be more than happy
to do it again.
